IOS Noob here, I'm trying to find out if the Apple store allows for apps to implement their own Promo code scheme via the app itself, bypassing the app store purchases.
Now I get from many questions about this on SO that it is allowed to have Promo code's for app's via the app store itself, i.e. you can have promo codes, that will allow you to purchase an in app purchase for discounts
My question is that if I were to bypass the app store and add promo code's on my backend, so that when the user enters the code in the APP, the in app purchases come for free, will this be rejected by the app store?
What if I make the app free, and control all purchases and subscriptions on the backend via a payment gateway on the website? I guess this would work, but I'd really prefer to have it in the app itself.
If you could point me to similar questions on SO also that'd be great and I'd be happy to mark this duplicate, couldn't find a similar one.
